Air Jordan 5 (V) Retro “Bel-Air Inside Out” Customs by El Cappy

Ever wonder what the Bel-Air Air Jordan 5 would like had they been flipped inside out? Thanks to custom kicks designer El Cappy, we now have a pretty good idea. In similar fashion to the Bel-Air’s sock liner, this pair has received a beautiful multi-colored print across the entire upper, which features bright green, turquoise, dark blue, and even pink elephant print. The tongue and netting have been covered in black, and bright green and pink Jumpman logos are shown off on the top of the tongue. This is definitely an interesting take on the Bel-Air theme. Air Jordan VI (6) Retro “Grape” Customs by El Cappy

We’ve seen a number of hot Air Jordan 6 customs from El Cappy, but his latest one takes inspiration from another model that we are waiting to see in stores again. Using  design cues from the Air Jordan 5 “Grapes”, this pair has a mostly white upper, with purple and aquamarine accents around the midsole and tongue. To top things off, the “flames” were even painted on the side. Aquamarine Jumpman logos on the tongue and heel add the finishing touches. Let’s hope that Jordan Brand will copy his idea and put these into production. In the meantime, hit up El Cappy and he just might make a pair for you. For a fee, of course.

Air Jordan V “Desert Storm” Customs by El Cappy

Check out this hot new Air Jordan 5 custom by El Cappy, which gives tribute to Desert Storm. The entire upper has been wrapped in camouflage print, contrasted perfectly with black accents. The reflective tongue remains, while four stars have been placed on the side. “9-0” has been placed on the heel, which represents the war’s start in 1990. More than likely this pair is a one-off, but I’m sure we can expect more masterpieces from El Cappy.

Air Jordan VI Retro “FLOM” Customs by El Cappy

Futura’s original Nike Dunk High SB FLOM (For love or Money) is one of my favorite Dunks of all time. Unfortunately, only 24 pairs produced, all given to the designer’s friends and family. This makes them incredibly difficult to obtain, even if you can afford the $9,000-$16,000 market price.
Instead of trying to obtain a pair, custom designer El Cappy decided to create his own version, using not a Dunk, but an Air Jordan VI as the base. Just like the FLOM Dunks, this pair features many of the world’s various currencies on the upper, surrounded by black leather. “FL” has been placed on the side. While these may never fetch the prices as the original version, this Air Jordan VI tribute to the sneaker is certainly a masterpiece. You can see some of El Cappy’s other customs here.

Air Jordan VI Retro “Cannon” Custom by El Cappy

Custom designer El Cappy has created yet another Air Jordan 6 custom, this time inspired by a pair of LeBrons. Using what looks to be the Detroit Pistons Air Jordan VI and applying design cues from the Nike LeBron 9 “Cannon”, this pair has received turquoise leather over black patent leather. Yellow and red accents and turquoise speckles complete the Cannon look. What do you think of these?

Air Jordan VI Retro “South Beach” Customs by El Cappy

Remember the South Beach-themed CMFT 11s I posted back in November? They were Ok, but custom maker El Cappy decided to apply the same theme to a much more serious sneaker: the Air Jordan VI. As you can see below, the idea worked out beautifully. Most of the upper was done in a brilliant shade of aqua blue, and portions of the midsole were painted pink to match the laces. Never have I wanted a pair of blue and pink shoes so badly. The box is pretty impressive, too.
