Combining the classic styling of the AC Dunk with the with it’s modern day Vac Tech, Nike has created the Nike Dunk High AC VT. With the exception of the lace strap and black tongue, the entire upper has been vacuum-formed in Max Orange. As you can see, the old school gum sole remains, also orange in color. A set of black laces finishes the design. You can get these now at Asphaltgold.
The Dunk High VT continues its reign during the fall with this fresh new color scheme. This time, it has received a black, or midnight fog upper, coupled with black laces and a red midsole. They are available now at Nike.com. From Sneakernews.
I’m really looking forward to the Nike’s Vac Tech Dunks, especially this “Haystack” colorway. Created as part of the “Wheat Pack”, this pair has a tan suede upper, matched with tan and black laces. A white midsole provides a nice contrast. The Wheat Pack will also include Vac Tech versions of the Air Max 90 and Air Force 1. They are scheduled to release in October.
Last month, we saw a preview of a couple upcoming Dunk VT colorways, but here’s a look at the first Nike Dunk High VT to release. Created as part of Nike’s “Wheat Pack”, this Dunk High has received a completely solid wheat upper, made using Nike’s Vac Tech. A pair of wheat laces have been laced in, and a white midsole adds a nice color contrast. From the pic, it almost looks as if it were carved from a giant chunk of balsa wood. They are truly a piece of art. They are scheduled to release on October 7, 2011.

Nike is going full steam ahead with the Dunk and Air Force 1 VT, starting with their 2011 Holiday lineup. It seems they have gotten a little more advanced with their Vac Tech (VT), with more complicated colorways started to appear. So far, we can expect one Dunk High, two low top AF1 releases, and one high strap. At the rate that Nike’s VT is increasing in popularity, don’t be surprised to see more colorways, or even new VT models. Either way, I think it’s gonna be a good Christmas.
