Michael J. Fox Tries Out the Auto-Lacing Nike Mag **Video**

As promised by Tinker Hatfield four years ago, Nike has successfully developed a self-lacing version of the Nike Air Mag. What better person to test the sneaker out than Marty McFly himself? Released yesterday, here’s a first look at Michael J. Fox testing the sneaker’s auto-lacing feature out. While details on the sneaker’s self-lacing feature have not been given, it sounds as if each sneaker is operated by some type of actuator, connected to the laces.

It may have taken 26 years, but this is not only an incredible feat for Nike, but for the sneaker industry as a whole. Hopefully after these release, this feature will be incorporated into other sneakers.

Don’t expect to get the Nike Mag in stores, however. According to Nike, “The 2015 Nike Mag is a limited edition release. It will only be available via auction, with all proceeds going to the Michael J. Fox Foundation for Parkinson’s Research. The specific details on the auctions will be posted to Nike News and via Twitter @Nike in spring 2016.”

Nike Dunk Low Premium SB “Air Mag” Available Now

For those unaware, the Nike Dunk Low Premium SB “Air Mag” has officially released in stores. Inspired by the upcoming auto-lacing Nike Air Mag from Back to the Future II, this new colorway incorporates a Wolf Grey leather upper, contrasted with a white mesh tongue, along with matching white laces and graphics. The midsole is speckled is Light Retro, while the midsole is molded in the same color. If you’re looking to acquire a pair, they are available now at shops like Premier. In addition, you can also find most sizes on eBay.

Nike LeBron 12 “Air Mag” Customs

With Tinker Hatfield’s auto-lacing Nike Air Mag on the way, one anxious sneaker customizer has decided to take an alternate route.

Using the Nike LeBron 12 as a base, Kenny Liang has created this beautiful Nike Air Mag-themed version of the LBJ’s current sneaker. Taking every detail into account, LED lights have been incorporated into the sneaker, while beautiful speckles cover a portion of the midsole. To top things off, the swoosh graphics have received a blue glow-in-the-dark paint. Other details include a suitcase box and the infamous (but not really functional) Mattel Hoverboard. Nike Dunk Low Pro SB “Air Mag” More Images

Today we have an on-foot look at the upcoming “Air Mag” Nike Dunk Low Pro SB, which takes inspiration from the Nike’s soon to be released auto-lacing Nike Air Mag from Back to the Future. Its grey leather and nylon upper is contrasted with a white swoosh and a matching tongue, finished off with a speckled sole and turquoise outsole. The insole sports a design similar to that seen on Marty’s Hoverboard. Release info for the sneaker remains unannounced, but keep checking back for an update.

Nike Dunk Low Pro SB “Nike Mag”

With an auto-lacing version of the Nike Air Mag on the way for 2015, what better way to heat things up than with a “Magged-out” version of Nike SB Dunk Low? Taking inspiration from the popular Back to the Future sneaker, this pair has received a similar theme, which includes a mostly light grey upper overlapped with a white leather swoosh and a matching tongue. The graphics have been embroidered in grey as well, with aquamarine speckles applied to the midsole, finished off with a matching translucent outsole. A set of silver laces have been included for those looking to mix things up. No release date has been announced as of yet, but stay tuned for an update in the near future.

Nike Mag with Auto-Lacing Confirmed for 2015

It looks like the folks at Nike are intent on keeping their 4-year-old promise. Following the release of 2011’s Nike Air Mag, Tinker Hatfield stated that an auto-lacing version of the sneaker would release in 2015. Just recently, Tinker reiterated that statement once again. Considering that we’re now in the same year that the sneaker existed in in the Back to the Future world, the timing couldn’t be better. No release date has been announced as of yet, but Mr. Hatfield was quoted as saying “there are still 11 and two-thirds months left in 2015”. When this sneaker does release, expect limited quantities . The 2011 version was limited to just 1,500 pairs and released exclusively on eBay for the Michael J. Fox Foundation for Parkinson’s Research. Expect this release to follow in the same manner.

Nike Air Mag to Receive Power Laces in 2015

Many of you may remember that 2011 brought us a production version of the Nike Air Mag, designed by sneaker legend Tinker Hatfield. During the sneaker’s promotion, Tinker mentioned plans to create a power lacing version of the Nike Air Mag for 2015, but most people didn’t take this statement to seriously. During this year’s NBA All-Star weekend, Tinker once again, mentioned his promise to bring the Nike Air Mag back for 2015 with a power lacing feature. Considering Tinker’s resume and genius-level design skills, it’s almost guaranteed that he’ll make good on this promise. Stay tuned for more.

Nike Dunk Low 6.0 DMC-12 DeLorean

With a ridiculous amount of hype and limited supply pushing the Nike Air Mag 2011 to outrageous prices, most of us can only dream about owning a pair. Thankfully, Nike has also created this beautiful pair of Dunk 6.0s, inspired by Doc Brown’s DeLorean. Using the car’s stainless steel exterior as a design cue, this Dunk low has received a seamless upper, done in metallic silver with black outlining. A black sole and matching laces finish off the look, and the bottom of the sole has received a white, red and orange pattern to mimic the DeLorean’s taillights. Take a look at the silver shoe box, and you’ll notice that it has received “gull wing” doors, and a DMC “manufacturer’s stamp. The DeLorean Dunks are officially scheduled to release on Black Friday, November 26, but you can cop them now on eBay. Here’s a link to the listings. From SF.

Nike Mag 2015 Available Now on eBay

I know many of you went nuts after seeing the Nike Mag 2015, Nike’s real-life version of the sneakers worn by Marty McFly in Back to the Future II. Only 1500 pairs were produced, and they are all being sold via auction on eBay. 150 pairs will be listed each day, and all proceeds will go to the Michael J. Fox Foundation for Parkinson’s Research. If you are interested in bidding on a pair, here is a direct link to the search results. Don’t expect to get these for cheap however, most pairs are going for $2500 and up.

GREAT SCOTT! Today at a very special event hosted by legendary designer Tinker Hatfield, Nike finally announced that the Nike Air Mag 2015 sneakers. Many of you (including myself) have been waiting the majority of your life to see this day come true after seeing Marty McFly sport a pair in Back to the Future II. Of course, don’t expect any auto-laces, but judging from the pics, this pair should be well worth the 26 years we’ve been waiting. Rare Air: Nike Hyperdunk Low McFly Unreleased Samples

Remember the Back to the Future-inspired “McFly” Hyperdunks released in ’08? Well, what you probably didn’t know was that there was also a lowtop version planned. As you can see, they used the same color scheme as the mids. Looking at the tags, this pair was constructed in April of last year. Since the idea was scrapped, this is one of very few pairs in existence. If you’d like to get your hands on a pair, this pair is now available on ebay.  Here’s a link to the auction.
