It looks like the folks at Nike are intent on keeping their 4-year-old promise. Following the release of 2011’s Nike Air Mag, Tinker Hatfield stated that an auto-lacing version of the sneaker would release in 2015. Just recently, Tinker reiterated that statement once again. Considering that we’re now in the same year that the sneaker existed in in the Back to the Future world, the timing couldn’t be better. No release date has been announced as of yet, but Mr. Hatfield was quoted as saying “there are still 11 and two-thirds months left in 2015”. When this sneaker does release, expect limited quantities . The 2011 version was limited to just 1,500 pairs and released exclusively on eBay for the Michael J. Fox Foundation for Parkinson’s Research. Expect this release to follow in the same manner.
