After 18 years, it looks like Jordan Brand is finally giving the Air Jordan 13 “Grey Toe” a release it deserves. For those not aware, the Grey Toe 13s were planned as an original colorway during the model’s original release, but were scrapped in favor of the White/Varsity Red colorway, rumored to comply with NBA uniform restrictions enforced at the time. A few samples were released, but mostly in kids sizes. It wasn’t until 2005 that Jordan Brand finally made an effort to give the Grey Toe Air Jordan 13 a public release. Unfortunately, this release featured a crimson, or “Team Red” suede in instead of the Varsity Red, and was notorious for its “bleeding ink”, which, if not stored upside down, would turn the outsole pink. Yuck.

Just recently, images of this sample surfaced, which is believed to represent a planned 2014 version of the sneaker. This version appears true to the original unreleased version, red suede and all. At the moment, very little is known about the sneaker, but let’s keep our fingers crossed that these make it to production with no changes.
