Air Jordan 1 Retro High “Russell Westbrook”

With Jordan Brand releasing player exclusive colorways for superstars Chris Paul and Carmelo Anthony, a special design for Russell Westbrook, Jordan Brand’s latest athlete, was only inevitable. This pair utilizes a deep teal suede over Infrared 23 leather, complemented with black swoosh graphics. A hint of teal mesh has been applied as well, with placement on the tongue and ankle areas. The usual Jumpman logo has been replaced with Westbrook’s initials. No official release date has been announced as of yet, but the sneaker has been rumored to release on All-Star weekend (Feb. 13-15). Stay tuned for an update on this colorway. From Yamaotoko.

Air Jordan 1 Retro High “CP3” Available Now

Jordan Brand’s Air Jordan 1 tribute to Chris Paul is finally available. This pair sports a Midnight Navy suede and white leather upper, perfectly complemented with University Blue graphics. The usual Jumpman tongue logo has been replaced with a “CP” design. A white and University Blue sole has been applied to complete the theme. You can purchase these now at Nikestore, or on eBay.

Air Jordan I Retro High “Banned”

Banned? For those who don’t know the history, the Air Jordan 1 wasn’t always widely accepted by the NBA. When Jordan first wore these during his rookie year, he was immediately slapped with a huge fine for wearing sneakers that didn’t comply with uniform colors. The folks at Nike saw this as excellent marketing strategy, andtold Jordan to continue wearing the sneakers, while they covered the fines. This controversy, combined with MJ’s popularity, caused sales of the Air Jordan I to soar, and helped launch one of the most successful sneaker lines ever.

     As a tribute, Jordan Brand is releasing this special version of the Black/Red Air Jordan 1 colorway, which looks very true to the original release. Also, notice the box, which is also similar to the OG Air Jordan 1 box. The main difference is the red “X”, placed on the sides of the box. I’ll keep you guys posted as more info on these becomes available.
