Rare Air: Air Jordan V Retro “Purple Haze” Samples

Let’s face it, the Air Jordan V Low wasn’t exactly the most popular low top model to release, but this unreleased sample colorway might change a lot of minds. It has a mostly black upper, with the exception of purple on the sock liner and midsole. To keep things color-coordinated, the lace locks have been molded in purple as well. While I’m not certain, there’s a good chance these were PEs for Mike Bibby during his Sacramento Kings days, as he wore a similar colorway. These were originally posted on Twitter by josiah_lake. By now, you’ve probably noticed his White/Cement IVs in the background. Very good sign, indeed!

Nike Air Force 1 Low VT White

Here’s another super clean pair of white Air Force 1s. VT (Vac Tech) has been used to create a seamless upper, which is mated to a translucent white sole.  the They will release on August 1, retailing for $135. If you remember, these very closely resemble the Foamposite Air Force 1 High. I’m not if the material on this pair is Foam or not, but it sure is nice.

Air Jordan V Retro Quai 54 – Asia Release

The Air Jordan v “Quai 54” has finally made its way to Asia, a month after the Quai 54 tournament. Japan’s Nike Harajuku will release the Quai 54s to lucky raffle ticket holders this weekend. It still sucks for us U.S. sneakerheads, though. The Quai 54s were supposed to release at House of Hoops stores on July 2, but somehow that never happened. Hopefully this is a sign that a stateside release is still in the works. If not, there’s still quite a few pairs on eBay right now.

Nike Dunk High GS Cherry/Blue-Green-Yellow

While I can’t speak for everyone else, this is a Nike Dunk colorway the Easter Bunny would certainly fall in love with. Using a combination of full-grain and patent leather, this pair uses a combination of blue, green, cherry and yellow, all in a pastel tone. Unfortunately for those of you looking to cop a pair, this colorway is only available to the kiddies. They are available at JD Sports.

Rare Air: Nike LeBron 8 V/2 Victory Green/Electric Green Unreleased Samples

During last summer’s trade talks, I don’t think becoming a Boston Celtic was on LeBron’s list of choices, but had the impossible come true, he might have worn this unreleased Nike LeBron 8 V/2 sample. The upper has been been colored in two shades of green, complemented with a white swoosh and a matching white and green sole. Take a look at the insoles, and you’ll see a silhouette of LeBron posterizing a defender. These were originally listed on eBay by seller rekha085.

Nike Air Penny 3 Varsity Royal/Black Release Reminder

Just a reminder that this Saturday, July 23, the Varsity Royal/Black (aka Ripstops) Nike Air Penny III will release at House of Hoops stores, and possibly at select Footlockers as well. Durable Ripstop material has been used on the collar in place of the usual full grain leather, with nubuck suede on the rest of the upper, completely done in royal blue, and coupled with black Foamposite material. White contrast stitching has been used to add to this beautiful combination. If you are having trouble locating a store in your area that carries the Ripstop Penny IIIs, there are already a few pairs available on eBay. Here’s a direct link to the search results.

Air Jordan 6 Rings “Carbon Fiber”

We’ve seen a few black Jordan 6 Rings releases now, but how about one with carbon fiber? Yep, that’s right. While it’s probably not true carbon fiber, a similar material has been wrapped around the upper, in place of the usual patent leather. The rest of the upper, has been done in black to match, and contrasted with a white sole. While it is quite exciting to see the 6 Rings in carbon fiber, I’m hoping this is a sign that the Carbon Fiber XIs are on the way. The Carbon Fiber 6 Rings will release on September 17, 2011.

Rare Air: Air Jordan 1 Retro Black Patent Leather Sample

With so many Air Jordan 1 colorways released over the past few years, it’s no surprise to see a few that just didn’t quite make the cut. Here’s one that should have, IMO. This pair has been completely covered in black patent leather, complemented with a white sole, and a medium grey sock liner. The tongue logo has been stitched in white to match. Looking at the tag, it looks like these samples were created in ’09, so chances are they won’t be going into production. If you’d like to get your hands on this particular size 9 sample, they are available now on eBay through seller envyusek. Here’s the link.

Nike Air Force 1 Low Premium – Black/Black-White

Despite the fact that there’s probably a couple thousand different Air Force 1 colorways in existence, black and white colorways still seem to be the most popular. Somehow, Nike is still coming up with new releases using these two basic colors. This pair has received an all-black upper, created with a combination of mesh and nubuck suede. The commonly used white midsole has been used, contrasted with a black logo and outsole. These are available in select stores now.

Nike Air Max 95 – Grey/Tour Yellow

Tour Yellow hasn’t been seen on any hot releases since the White/Tour Yellow-Black Air Jordan IVs, but after looking at this new Air Max 95 release, I’m glad that Nike decided to keep it on the color palette. It has the traditional white-to-gray gradient pattern that we all know and love, but the use off Tour Yellow on the eyelets, swoosh, and Max Air unit really add character to this classic. There’s no word if these will receive a U.S. release or not, but if you live in or don’t mind ordering from the U.K., you can cop these now at JD Sports.

Nike Air Foamposite One Black/Royal

It looks like the Nike Air Foamposite One is finally reaching it’s potential as Nike is beginning to release even hotter colorways. This pair has received a completely blacked-out upper, but really comes to life thanks to a royal blue outsole, and matching royal accents. Some of you might be thinking “Blue Cough Drops“, but they remind me more of the Space Jams. This is only a photoshop, but the actual release should be pretty close to these. They are expected to release sometime next month as a House of Hoops (HOH) exclusive. From Deftronic.
