Nike Dunk High “Deconstruct”

Nike has reinvented its classic Dunk sneaker once again. This time, they’ve removed a large portion of the sneaker’s lining, which has given the upper a soft, flexible, almost Chuck Taylor-like structure. The Nike Dunk High “Deconstruct Pack” consists of three different colorways: Beige, Blue, and Orange. All three pairs have an all-suede upper, white laces, and a white and gum sole. Expect to see these hit stores some time this spring. From Mita Sneakers.

Nike Blazer SB “Quasar Purple”

It might not be for everyone, but I love to wear purple. My favorite Ninja Turtle wore it, my favorite team wears it (think Mamba), the Joker wears it, and it’s the color of royalty. For that reason, I couldn’t resist sharing this hot new Nike Blazer SB release. Called “Quasar Purple”, this pair uses that very same color on most of its suede upper, with the exception of grey graphics and a matching sock liner, finished off with a clean white sole. I’m not sure if these have already hit the U.S. or not, they are available at skate shops like Premier now for around $75.

Rare Air: Nike Air Foamposite One “Shooting Stars” PE

If you thought the Galaxy Foams were too limited, here’s a pair that not even a wallet full of cash and a week of camping out can obtain. Ordered by and created exclusively for Penny Hardaway to wear in the 2012 NBA All-Star Celebrity Game, this pair was designed in favor of his old Magic uniform. The white upper has been joined with black on the eyelet area and blue for the laces, tongue, and sock liner. A number of silver and white stars have been added to really make this sneaker stand out, and the icy sole completes it. Just like the White Outs, this is the only pair in existence, so your chances of owning a pair a zero-to-none. Continue pursuing those Galaxies. From SC.

So far, we’ve mainly seen the usual high top cut, but just like many of the its previous models, the LeBron 9 will have a low top version. This Red/Mint colorway is one of the first releases we can expect to see. Similar to the Christmas LeBrons, this pair has a mostly red upper. Mint accents have been placed on the swoosh and eyelet area, and a mid sole and Max Air unit provide the cushioning and traction. A Red and white midsole holds everything together. Nike Flyknit – First Look

Today we get a first look at Nike’s latest advancement in the world of sneaker technology, the Nike Flyknit. By creating a one piece upper and joining it with Flywire technology, Nike was able to completely eliminate the use of glue and stitching. A lightweight Lunarlon sole provides the cushioning and traction. The end result is a sneaker that weighs only 5.6 ounces and completely conforms to the user’s feet. That’s about as close as you can get to running barefoot comfortably. They are scheduled to release sometime in July. Stay tuned for more info on this highly advanced sneaker.

Rare Air: Air Jordan V Retro “Red Tails”

We’ve seen a number of Black History Month releases from Nike and Jordan in the past two years, but sometimes they don’t always make it past the drawing board. Here’s a look at a sample pair of “Red Tails” Air Jordan Vs, which gives tribute to the Tuskegee Airmen and the movie of the same name. Using what looks to be the same upper from the Wolf Grey 5s, red suede has been placed on the heel, with the letters “RT-A” embroidered. Judging from the other sneaker in the back, these may hav been part of a proposed pack. The Red Tails will most likely never get a production run, but this sample sold for $5000 at an auction. From SN and NarcelX.
