Originally these were called “Hornets”, Kobe called them “Blue Lights”, and now we’re hearing “Draft Day”. No matter which name you prefer to give this pair, they all seem to reference the Hornets, which seems to fit the sneaker quite well. Originally, Kobe was drafted by the Charlotte Hornets, who ended up getting traded to the Lakers. This sneaker represents what might have been. A release date for this sneaker is still in the works, so stay tuned.
Air Jordan 1 Phat White/University Blue – New Images
Today we finally have a few detailed images of the upcoming and highly anticipated White/University Blue-White Air Jordan 1 Phat. Finished completely in leather, this OG colorway pays homage to MJ’s Tarheel roots. It has a white and University Blue upper completed with a blue outsole and matching sock liner. We still don’t have a release date on these yet, but expect them to drop in the first quarter of 2013.
Nike Air Trainer SC – Black/Elephant
Check out this hot new blacked-out Nike Air Trainer SC Premium release. The majority off the sneaker has been wrapped in black leather with matching graphics, while a dark elephant print runs along the sides. A black sole keeps the theme going. Not much is known about this release yet, but expect them to drop early next year.

Mastermind Japan x Nike Dunk High
For their final collaboration, Mastermind Japan has teamed up with Nike to create this beautiful pair of Dunk Highs. The sneaker has a black and grey color scheme, finished off with the Mastermind Japan skull and crossbones logo. These were released on December 8 in select Japan shops, but you can get them on eBay in most sizes. Here’s a direct link to the search results.
Nike Air Max 1 Premium – Summit White/Black
The bright colorways are always attention getters, but this upcoming Nike Air Max 1 Premium design proves that keeping it simple is usually the way to go. It has a suede Summit White upper black graphics and matching eyelets. A blacked-out sole and bright white tongue complete the look for a versatile design that will go well with just about any outfit that you can think of. This pair is scheduled for a January release, and can be preordered at Titolo.
Air Jordan IV Retro “Brother of Mars”
Ecentrik Artistry has done it again, giving us yet another hot Air Jordan IV custom. Called the “Brother of Mars”, this new design takes inspiration from the “Stealth” Jordan Son of Mars. It uses a similar stealth upper with light blue and yellow accents, and is finished off with a white and blue midsole. You can purchase them here. Nike Air Max 95 – Cool Grey/Black-University Red
Here’s another hot Air Max 95 release for December. This pair features a black suede base with a red stripe in the middle, and grey at the top. A white midsole completes the look. These are available now at sneaker stores in Europe.
Air Jordan IV Retro “Jesus Piece” Customs by Mache
Commissioned by rapper Game himself, Mache Customs has created another masterpiece. Called “Jesus Piece”, this pair shares the name name as Game’s newest album and uses it as the main inspiration. This pair has received a Raging Bull-esque red suede upper, contracted with black accents and a cement grey outsole. Red and black dubraes have been created which read “JESUS PIECE”. Don’t expect to get your hands on these, this pair appears to be one of a kind.
Nike Air Foamposite One “Phoenix”
With so many Phoenix Suns-themed sneakers dropping this year, what better way to finish things off that with a Phoenix Nike Air Foamposite One? This pair has received a deep purple Foamposite upper with black on the top. Orange accents and the usual icy clear sole provide the finishing touches. No word yet if this is sneaker is planned for release but let’s hope so. Stay tuned for more.
Air Jordan XX8 – Packaging
You’ve seen the shoe, but what about the box? Here’s a detailed look at the packaging for the upcoming Air Jordan XX8. The XX8s will come packaging in a black slider box, which has the “XX8” logo stamped on the side. Also, each sneaker has received an individual gym bag, similar to what we’ve seen on previous models like the Air Jordan XIX. Expect the first colorway of the Air Jordan XX8 to drop on February 15 in Houston, and nationwide on February 16.
Nike Air Max 1 Black/Gold
For the last two years, Nike has provided us with a slew of Air Max 1 releases, and it looks like next year won’t be any different. This upcoming Premium colorway has received a mostly black color scheme, with suede running along the top and leather around the sides. A swoosh and red graphics join a white midsole to complete the look. There’s no release info yet, but stay tuned for more.
Nike Zoom Kobe VIII (8) iD Available on December 20
While we won’t see any store releases until next year, custom colorways of the Nike Zoom Kobe VIII will be available through Nike iD on December 20. Three options will be available: Kobe 8 System iD ($180), Kobe+ 8 System iD ($200), and Kobe+ 8 System iD Sport Pack System ($270). Even though you can’t purchase them just yet, you can build your own sneaker and save the design for purchase later. Here’s a few designs that I came up with. What color scheme will you build?

Nike Dunk Low Pro SB – Thunder Blue/Cool Grey-White
Nike SB has managed to sneak in one more hot Dunk Low SB release right before the end of the year. This sneaker has features full suede upper and uses a combination of Dark Blue with Cool Grey inner panels. A matching set of Dark Blue laces have been included for a perfect match, and the white sole provides a nice touch. You can pick these up now at your local skate shop or online at Premier.
Nike Air Force 1 Foamposite Low – Safety Orange/White
Check out this bright new Nike Air Force 1 Foamposite Low colorway, created as part of the AF1s 30th anniversary XXX Pearl Collection. The upper has been covered with a Safety Orange Foamposite shell, joined with a white swoosh. An icy clear sole provides the cushioning. Expect to see these in stores later this month.
Nike KD V – Silver/Orange
We’ve been seeing hot new colorways of the Nike KD 5 almost everyday, but this newly-surfaced pair is one of the best designs yet. This pair has a metallic silver base, complemented with black and bright orange accents. This color palette gives the sneaker a futuristic, almost robotic appearance. There’s no release date for these just yet, but stay tuned.
