This year, both Jordan Brand and Nike have decided to celebrate black history month with special colorways of the Air Jordan III Retro and Nike Zoom Kobe VI. Both colorways feature a mostly black and gold upper with gold accents, and Black History Month logos.
The Air Jordan IIIs use a combination of black nubuck suede and leather for the upper, all held together with gold stitching. A matching gold Jumpman logo adds the finishing touches to the tongue. To show love for Black history month, a special lace lock has been placed on the front. Also, notice that the traditional elephant print has been replaced with a more polygonal pattern.
The BHM Kobe VI uses the typical materials seen so far, done mostly in black. A gold swoosh an be seen through the “3D” Kobe upper. Gold accents have also been placed at the heel and outsole areas. A Black History Month logo has been placed at the rear of the shoe to make it complete.
Both sneakers are planned for release on February 26, but if you can’t wait, there’s already a nice selection of either pair on ebay. Here is a link to the listings.
